Why Windlesham?

Look beyond the gates and you will find that our warm, welcoming school is far more than meets the eye. With a surprisingly large site, our pupils benefit from having their own swimming pool, dedicated sports hall, art block, soundproof music studios and both flowering and vegetable gardens – a sanctuary in the city.

When you join our friendly, co-educational school in the heart of Brighton, you are joining our Windlesham family where every face is familiar and each child is celebrated and valued as an individual. Our experienced teaching team focuses on academic rigour whilst delivering a broad, rich and balanced curriculum where we harness the unique talents and skills of each child. We are an inclusive school that prides itself on promoting high standards, with a balanced approach. We encourage children to develop their particular talents and abilities whilst finding joy in learning and pride in achievement. This then lays a solid foundation for their next steps in learning and life.

We are proud to say that at the end of their journey, a Windlesham pupil is

  • independent and resilient
  • inquisitive and able to seek answers
  • resilient and open to challenge
  • committed to community and the environment
  • future focused and reflective

and has

  • a strong academic foundation
  • a holistic view of themselves as learners
  • a deep understanding of their emotional regulation
  • established life-long friendships
  • a wealth of enrichment opportunities and fun memories

Windlesham is a school that is truly independent but with strong, well-established links with local schools. This gives us the flexibility to focus on the specific needs of our children. Rooted in respect for traditional values, we aim to encourage our pupils to be kind, forward-thinking and equipped with the skills to navigate the world we live in today and shape the world of tomorrow.
