Academic success

We are very proud of the academic achievements of our children. Each year the academic profile of a year group is different as the children all have their own individual strengths. We strive to promote individual progress, providing support when necessary and always looking to extend.

For 2018, at KS1 and KS2, the children were assessed in the core subjects. At KS1, in Reading, Writing and Mathematics, close to 100% of children were judged to be reading at a level which met or exceeded national expectations. For Reading, 25% of children achieved at a level which was beyond national expectations. At KS2, 47% of children achieved at a level which was beyond national expectations in Reading: 15% were judged to be far beyond expectations. In Mathematics, 50% of our children achieved a level which was judged to be beyond national expectations. 33% were at this level for Writing.

This year, the children were again successful in 11+ entry examinations to independent senior schools. We pride ourselves on being a truly independent school preparing children for their next steps in education. We strive to help parents and carers choose a senior school which is most suited to their child. In consequence, children from Windlesham are able to access a wide range of schools both in the maintained and the independent sectors. Please see our destination tables for more details.

In 2018, from our Year 6 group of 36 children, 57 places were offered by different schools, with some children being offered places at more than one school. Our children were offered 15 awards, including Academic, Choral and All-rounder scholarships. Several children also received Headmaster and Headmistress Awards. All our children should be congratulated on their achievements.
